Savory Protein Packed Egg Bites (Better Than Starbucks!)
If you’ve ever grabbed egg bites from the Starbucks drive-thru in a pinch, you know how convenient they are—but also how pricey, processed, and low in real nourishment they can be.
These easy, savory homemade egg bites are a game-changer: rich in flavor, loaded with protein, and free from processed ingredients. Best of all, they’re blood sugar balancing and totally customizable—perfect for anyone looking to increase protein, those trying to conceive (TTC), or just looking for a delicious, healthy breakfast on the go.
🍳 Why These Egg Bites Are Different
Unlike store-bought or fast food options, these are made with:
Whole, real ingredients
Feta in brine (easier to digest and less processed)
High-protein cottage cheese and eggs
No additives or preservatives
Satiating fats and protein to support blood sugar stability
They're quick to reheat, freezer-friendly, and make busy mornings feel effortless and nourishing.
🥓 Savory Morning Prep Egg Bites
Ingredients:
1 lb bacon
12 eggs
1 cup cottage cheese
A handful of cherry or grape tomatoes, chopped
Feta cheese in brine (crumbled)
½ tsp paprika
A pinch of red pepper flakes
Salt & pepper, to taste
Optional: fresh or dried dill, chopped chives, garlic powder, or onion powder.
Instructions:
Bake the bacon until crisp, then blot excess grease with a paper towel. Chop into bite-sized pieces.
Grease a muffin tin (standard 12-cup size or silicone molds work great).
Add chopped bacon and tomatoes to the bottom of each muffin cup.
Top with crumbled feta cheese.
In a blender, combine eggs, cottage cheese, paprika, red pepper flakes, dill, chives (if using), salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and frothy.
Pour the egg mixture evenly into the muffin cups, filling nearly to the top.
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until the egg bites are set in the center and lightly golden.
Makes 24 egg bites. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze and reheat as needed.
